BRIEF STORY
ANKITH, PALLAVI & FRIENDS are a bunch of youth with varied ambitions and leading a Quiet Urban life style. Among them are our leading pair of the movie Ankith and Pallavi. The story is all about how everyone’s goals in life are different from each other and how anyone can lead a happy life by coming to terms with the life’s realities.

- Best part of the movie is undoubtedly the MUSIC by VINU THOMAS. Any sensible guy or gal that has Musical Ears would find this album as a breath of fresh air in Tollywood. Every year the number of movies with good music is increasing. Finally I can for sure say that Telugu music too can compete with Tamil or Hindi Music. We have not equalled them yet… but we will for sure. Telugu musicians like Devi Sri Prasad, Chakri and Mani Sharma have always been mediocre musicans with minimal music knowledge. Vinu Thomas, a Malayali guy, has both western classical and Indian Ragas flowing through his brain waves.
- Second Best thing about the movie are its LYRICS by VANAMALI. Simply Superb. Vanamali raised the bar for lyrics in Popular Tollywood Film Music. Rama Jogayya Sastry has done an Okay job.
- Third Best thing in the movie is the performance of VENU as Sunil. His characterization was simply superb. His innocence pervades through the amateurish script. He is quite funny.

- First Worst thing about the movie is its BACKGROUND SCORE by VINU THOMAS. Yes, guys n gals… you are reading right. I am still wondering how come a Musician that composed those beautiful songs give such a hedious background score? Actually the Background Score is entirely different from composing songs. For example, let us talk about the introduction scene of Ankith (Nikhil). He is shown as playing Violin while a kid is playing mouth organ. The only things one should hear are Breeze, Violin and the Mouth Organ. But strangely we hear a full-blown Orchestra. How foolish is that? I know the importance of Violin and Beethoven in Music. In fact, I listen to Beethoven whenever on long journeys. So soothing… But how crude it would be to listen to it in a scene that is filmed on a drunkard? Yes, you can listen to Classical Violin scores in those scenes too in this movie. There are many such instances… for example when the whole bunch of friends are jumping and hopping… and many more… Background Score makes this movie drab, dull and boring to death.
- The heroine of the movie MEGHA BURMAN (Model of some commercials including a BRU coffee ad) is not made for female lead in movies. Although beauty is subjective, glamour is not. She neither has a photogenic face nor has any acting skills. I seriously doubt her future.
- Mr. HARI YELLETI seems to be too interested in social service. But he picturised the scenes around the Orphanage so immaturely that instead of lighting our hearts, it makes us yawn. That is a serious failure on part of the Screenplay.
- Mr. HARI YELLETI doesn’t have a clue how to handle relationships and the heavy and mature conversations between two people. All through the movie, SURYA’s (Ping Pong) character hates his father’s character portrayed by NARESH. He doesn’t even smile at his father. But when he realizes his mistake, he casually greets and sits for a coffee smiling his teeth out. And then he talks about his marriage and his father’s marriage so casually that we begin to wonder… can this happen after so much guilt of hating him through out the film…
- Let me tell you an innovative twist, an absolutely first in the history of Indian Cinema… A girl who is a friend of Pallavi (Megha) gets cheated by a rich guy when she is pregnant and then attempts suicide and then the good fella SURYA (Not again…) marries her. Oh… what a drab script…
- NIKHIL SIDHARTH is not all that bad… but he finds place here because he almost never seems to stop smiling in the movie. He has very good future only when he finds the knack of cutting an expression. An actor should be subtle and not hyperactive. Leave those things for the mass masala movies. My advice to him is to just practice varied range of expressions and completely avoid that constipated expression where one of his eye completely closes.
- HARI YELLETI should try and Write something better and sensible before Directing it. He DRAGS & PREACHES his ideas through this boring movie.
Got nothing to do? Watch ANKITH, PALLAVI & FRIENDS and their antics. I know for sure that you would desperately find something better to do then…

Friends,
I watched the “APF”. Then I read reviews which looked like motivated pr short sighted. So spontaneously I felt the need to write to you all.
THE FIRM
——————————-
INNOVISION CINEMA
Hari Yelleti has chosen “Innovision cinemas” as title of his firm. Much thought must have gone in choosing the name. Let’s hope to see innovative and visionary movies churn out from this firm. APF is the good beginning.
THE MAN
—————-
HARI YELLETI.
Marketing: - I have come know so much about him even before I saw his first film. I should say hats off to his ability in marketing himself. All wannabe directors, congratulations, you one more success story from which you can learn and get inspired.
Honesty: - It is nice to note Hari Yelleti’s honesty when he remarks “APF didn’t happen just like that. It was after numerous drafts and numerous trials…”
It’s the real story of toil of successful people, which will make and give courage to new comers to know that the path is difficult but not impossible.
Rich understanding of life: - APF ends with Hari Yelleti’s voice over “Happiness is a choice…”. ‘Well said’ Hari Yelleti garu. You display rich understanding of life.
…AND THE MOVIE
————————————————
ANKITH, PALLAVI AND FRIENDS
Film Title: The movie is aptly title as each character has important role to play.
Casting for characters: - Except for ‘Sunil’ mother who actually looks like her grand mother, what should I write: - “Yeh hi hain right choice baby…”
Characterization: - The youth characters in APF booze and smoke and talk like real life characters. Thank God, I did not felt like being in wonderland and in the midst of all goody, goody people.
Hari Yelleti has shown his intelligence in design of characters especially to bring in the “believability quotient”. You need not have to look at the characterization of Ankith or Pallavi. Just look at how he develops the character of Naresh’s son. As movie progresses, this particular boy does an act (watch the movie) which a youth in real life, rarely does. But still it doesn’t come out as a fairy tale.
Love: - Mother Theresa once said “We can do no great things, only small things with great love.” After watching APF, one can sure say that “Hari Yelleti and his team might have not done a great, great movie but definitely, he and his team has done it with great love”
Responsibility: - Hari Yelleti and his team take full responsibility and deliver a message oriented YET FULLY ENTERTAINING movie. The message makes itself clear through the story, through the images. In fact, it makes the Voice over of Hari Yelleti at the end of the movie, a redundant inclusion.
Screen play: Within 15-20 minutes of the movie, the major characters, their socio- educational-economic-cultural background, the challenge they must overcome are all established beautifully.
You find no static moments. The story progresses a step forward with every image. The only scene which seemed to slow the pace was the inclusion of the song “Premani…Premani”…the song doesn’t take the story forward. For reasons, please see the movie.
Movie Length: The story determines the length. But I have seen many movies, which have clichéd, unnecessary scene just acting as padding to meet that 2Hours 30 Minutes length.
Hari Yelleti seems to excel in this aspect. As mentioned earlier, each image takes the story forward thus ensuring no dull moments.
Dialogues: -
The conflict between Ankith and Pallavi, at the interval bang, in the form of dialogue is worth mentioning. One cannot fail to feel that the words are so natural and coming right from the heart of the characters. For me, Sekhar Kammula was one of the best dialogue writers. I can’t help adding Hari Yelleti’s name to the list.
On a funny note: - Hi guys, lets stop showing Indian’s shunning opportunity to go abroad. Transport and Communications medium has grown so well these days that you will be with your dear ones in a moment. Besides, intangible benefits that country derives from such people when they return after 5 or 10 years, cannot be neglected. And glory that we bring to country when we take our knowledge and culture…Need I have to mention about Vivekananda, BKS Iyengar, Nandan Nilekani…
What I realized when I walked out of the cinema?
I realized that I had just watched FIRST MOVIE of a director. So much of perfection in art of film making!!!
Final Note: - Friends, Hari Yelleti deserves your appointment with “Ankith, Pallavi and Friends”, if not this weekend, do make it by next.
Happy Watching,

GUYS n GALS,
Have U seen the disgusting Publicity messages called comments above? What kind of a Cheap Publicity stunt is this? I won’t delete them because they showcase the desperate nature of HARI YELLETI in promoting his mediocre movie. I hope he quits these cheap tricks and try to make some good movies next time around. All The Best Sir… :-D
Oh Kalcha,
u can delete two of those. They are all the same. I have seen these comments on many other film sites. Anyway waiting for your opinion on Ashta Chemma .
Hi Chaitanya,
